They are looking for new lines of nautical jewelry to carry in their stores. It is a great way to connect with your existing wholesale customers and show them all your new designs.

There are many ways to start selling your handmade jewelry to wholesale customers. We are a bit old fashioned but what used to work, still works. We have been selling wholesale to gift stores for over 30 years. We have experience and are sharing our tried and true methods to increase not only the number of wholesale customers but increase your overall sales as well.

When we were first starting our handmade jewelry business, we were mostly participating in arts and craft shows. We met many of our wholesale clients at these shows. We would always have all our contact information and brochures ready for such occasions. Many times we would make the sale at the craft show so always have extra stock on hand just in case.

We were regularly traveling to craft shows so we prepared samples of our handmade earrings wholesale in trays to display to gift stores along the way. Whenever we saw a gift shop that we thought we do well with our work, we would stop and ask to speak with the manager or buyer for the store.

 We would show our work or make an appointment to meet with the buyer. Tourist attraction signs are not only for tourists but are a great way to find gift shops in the area.

Almost every town or region has a Chamber of Commerce. You will be able to find lists of gift stores and schedule of events for the area. 

These brochures and flyers will give the contact details of local retailers that you can contact for appointments and visits. It is always a great idea to visit a gift shop to be able to know what items you make that would sell best for them.
